Creamy Grape Salad
Since last fall we have been preparing ourselves to let our oldest daughter go to IDAHO with her church group in July. We know she is responsible enough to handle being at a church camp for a week…at thirteen, she has a great group of friends.
So at our potluck last night ( where we brought this yummy salad) they started talking about bear bags and sleeping under the stars. My armpits started sweating and I was rethinking my decision to not chaperone.
OMG- When did they get old enough to be in the woods, with BEARS and Mosquitoes- maybe they don’t have those at 7500 feet of elevation?
Seriously- so scary- but so exciting to open up and try new experiences. As a traveler, even I have not been to Idaho- she seriously is having a better teenage life than me!
Back to the salad: I was asked so many times for this recipe:
Creamy Grape Salad:
This feeds about 20-24, so cut in half for a smaller gathering!
4 pounds of grapes, green or red or a combo.
1 brick of cream cheese
1 cup of sour cream
1/3 cup of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
Combine cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla in a mixer until creamy. Pour over washed grapes and stir.
Right before serving, sprinkle with brown sugar and pecan pieces.
Trust me- the salad is awesome!
