School starts in 10 days! Yikes- where did the summer go? Days are moving fast until the girls (gulp) are in high school and middle school. We have about 4 years left until our oldest kiddo is college bound!
This summer, I took this awesome opportunity to chaperone my daughters church trip to Sky Ranch in Ft Collins Colorado. I had a lot of anxiety for this trip- she is 14 and her friends are at that age where having parents with was not cool.
Fortunately, I tried really hard to not complain, or gasp for breath as we climbed, or almost crawled to the peaks of a few mountains. She really was great and her friends were even better!
We carried these awfully heavy packs up about 4 miles, set up camp and hiked another 8 miles from there!
We had no showers for 4 days- hiked a total of 34 miles.
This is one of her best friends- she was awesome!
This is the ranch- the bus ride was 1.5 hours from Ft. Collins on super steep, hairpin turns.
One of my favorite hikes. Circ Meadows
I could not get over these CLOSED purple pinecones with SNOW (July) on them. This was at the peak of the hikes. Two weeks before we were there, this was totally impassable.
The only animals we saw were Elk and one Moose.
